DCR 95 Completes Their Club Career 5/15/2013
In May 2007, a group of players and parents from Jtown Youth Soccer faced a choice. After
years of playing together, they could either (a) tryout for different select clubs, ending their friendships or (b) stay together
and form their own select team. They didn’t know if they would be able to compete at a higher level but they knew
they had coaches who had knowledge and a passion for the game (thank you Ben and Stu!) and that they had teammates they loved.
That was the beginning of Derby City Rossoneri. The players from that first team would improve dramatically over the
next five years. In addition, they began a new club dedicated for girls – one that now has added a boys team.
On Tuesday, May 14, 2013, that first team played its last competitive game. This is their photograph from that
last game, including some of the original Jtown players: Aubrey, Alex, Sara, Bronte, Hannah, Christina and Cayla, as
well as the players who have become their friends: April, Lexi, Sarah D., and Hope. This may have been their last
match but this is a group that will always be remembered for their firsts!
